United States Tennis Association
The Active Network has partnered with the United States Tennis Association with a focus on increasing participation in tennis by providing online solutions for both tennis organizers and players. Active hosts and supports the USTA’s TennisLink infrastructure, the registration and match-result system for USTA Leagues, Junior Team Tennis and Tournaments. Through marketing opportunities such as newsletter placements and local tennis event announcements, Active helps to introduce the sport to over 12,000,000 Active members.
As the largest organization dedicated to the sport of tennis in the world, the USTA has over 700,000 individual members and 7,000 organizational members and is the recognized leader in developing and promoting the sport of tennis in the United States at all levels.
Challenges:
- Remove the technology and management burden from the national organization.
- Ensure the scalability of the USTA system to meet the organization’s growing needs at all levels of play (i.e. community, competitive and professional).
- Create an interactive community for tennis professionals, players, and enthusiasts to help support USTA’s mission: Promote and develop the growth of tennis at all levels.
Solution:
- Provide a dedicated development team to host, manage and expand upon the TennisLink platform to meet future growth demands.
- Create an online tennis community on Active’s consumer Web site www.Active.com featuring message boards, articles, tips and drills to promote the sport of tennis.
- Create a directory of tennis activities and events featuring USTA tournaments along with tennis classes, camps and clinics for players at all experience levels.
