Established in 1955, Dixie was created to provide youth with a recreational outlet with an emphasis on local league play rather than tournament play. Today, the Dixie Youth Organization spans across 11 states nationwide and is comprised of three major divisions:

• Dixie Youth Baseball (boys under 13)
• Dixie Boys and Majors (boys ages 13-18)
• Dixie Youth Softball (girls 18 and under)

Challenges:

• Build a national Web site with a professional look and feel that was easy for the national office to maintain, offered centralized control, and supported multiple content providers located throughout the organization.
• Offer affordable and customizable Web sites with easy to use tools for thousands of teams and leagues across the country.
• Communicate a consistent look and feel to local Web sites to increase brand recognition and community awareness.
• Improve the registration process for hundreds of leagues nationwide that have historically relied on costly, labor intensive paper registration processes.

Solution:

• Active created a customized national Dixie Community Web site using the Company’s Active Content Management (ACM) system. The new Web site allows Dixie to maintain control at the national level while providing various content providers permission-based access to the site.
• Customized online registration was implemented to help streamline and centralize data collection and to provide an easily accessible platform for participants to submit safe and secure payments online.
• Self-set up eteamz Web Sites provide local teams and leagues the ability to create and maintain their own customizable Web sites. eteamz user-friendly tools allow coaches, players, volunteers and staff to post news, stories, pictures, schedules, statistics and much more at an extremely competitive rate.
• With the much-anticipated release of Networkz, Active looks to further enhance the online community for Dixie. Members will have the ability to associate their eteamz Web sites to the national organization, allowing them to share news, photos, surveys, events and more.
